Reviews:

"The slow steady, buildup of sensuality without being overly sexual made this book hard to put down." Affaire de Coeur

"An exquisitely sensitive love story featuring appealing characters with a wonderful chemistry between them." RT Magazine

Book description:

Too shy to love…

Quinn Ramsay is facing the biggest decision of his life, whether or not to sell his hugely successful sports conglomerate. His schedule has been insane for years, an endless series of trains, planes and automobiles. Even so he’s not so sure he wants to give it up. For what, he keeps asking himself. Where would he go from here' What would be his next step'

With those questions in mind, he heads to a friend’s house on Salt Spring, a small island in the Pacific Northwest that promises solitude and uninterrupted time to think and plan.

Not in his plan is meeting Emily Welland, the shy owner of the local bookstore. She intrigues him as no woman has in years—more so when he sees how determined she is to avoid him.

Emily is timid, insecure, and introspective—and she has her reasons. She’s read about Quinn Ramsay, the brilliant and handsome celebrity entrepreneur with the Midas touch, and she’s seen pictures of him in the tabloids, always with a beautiful model or actress on his arm. She knows he walks red carpets with the same ease that he hosts charity sporting events and fund raisers. His glittering California life is the polar opposite to her quiet, safe, and reclusive life on Salt Spring Island. And when he starts to show an interest in her, her initial reactions are disbelief, fear—and panic attacks. None of which she can control.

All of which makes Quinn more interested than ever.

Within Ruin (The Flameforged Saga), by Darrell Drake. (Still free?)

A fantasy romance in the Flameforged Saga, free today!

"A remarkable and anomalous novelty: Within Ruin ventures into the abysmal core of fantasy. Drake's profound vocabulary is a psychedelic channel for his text to come to life. His words, at times picturesque and other times grotesquely decorative, cause for a superior read. The story-line grips the reader's heart and squeezes until they have no choice but to let the tears fall. Every character is extraordinary and unforgettable. Within Ruin is a dark, chivalrous roller coaster ride that leaves the reader with no air to breathe and an incomplete cadence in the end which leaves one begging for more." -- Hali Mason, Amazon reviewer

When Virgil offers Descarta a chance to journey beyond the ramparts
in search of a cure for the blight crippling their realm, she eagerly accepts.

They set out with his elven wards, clingy and erratic creatures, and Descarta comes to discover a world darker and more caustic than she could have imagined—one dominated by mighty magics, beastly foes and great secrets.

The quest before them is rife with hazards both hidden and behemoth.  Only by enduring the precipitous path can the royal pair find what they seek.

And learn that even ruin can bring about the deepest of relationships.

Everautumn (The Flameforged Saga), by Darrell Drake. (Still free?)

And here's the second installment of the Flameforged Saga, also free today!

"Everautumn is the second book in the Flameforged Saga, coming after Within Ruin. It continues where the first left off (I won't go into detail because it will spoil the ending of Within Ruin!), and follows our main characters through more adventures, this time in the realm of Everautumn. I really enjoyed this book, and I would even venture to say I liked it more than the first. My criticism of Within Ruin was the language quality, as it was difficult to read in many places. While that "wordiness" is still apparent in Everautumn, I feel as though it wasn't as rough this time (or maybe I'm used to it!), and I was able to enjoy the story a lot more without having to look something up to understand. Plus, my two favorite characters are very prominent in this one, which kept me intrigued throughout. I would definitely recommend this one for all fans of Within Ruin, as we get a lot more of certain characters. Also, Everautumn can be read as a stand-alone novel; however, I feel like I connected better with the characters because I had read the first one. Reader's choice!" -- Kristin Kim, Amazon reviewer

Undeath meant only that they could wait forever.

Everautumn is a realm beyond common reality and common knowledge. Where retching
volcanoes, unrelenting heat and ashen forests canopied with tufts of flame dominate scarcely
hospitable terrain. A realm in the midst of conflict spanning millennia.

Almi and Merill have died. Their hearts no longer beat in the fashion they once did. Extirpated
and deposited in the harsh, lava-sown world of Everautumn, they now survive as something
seated between elf and undead. For six years they have endured, because they trust he will come.

Accompanied by Descarta, the artificial weaveress; Elissa, the once-forgotten daughter; and
Hafstagg, the paunchy warrior, Virgil has been sailing in search of a way to keep his promise to
revive the elven twins. And he will stop at nothing to do so.

Everautumn plans to challenge that.

The Wolf's Curse, by Kevin Parrett. (Still free?)

Here's a highly-rated fantasy geared towards middle-schoolers - but from the reviews, enjoyable to all ages. Free today!

"It has been years since I have picked up a middle grade book and I have to say, I wasn't disappointed with The Wolf's Curse. It brought back a lot of memories from my childhood. I love Franky and Nicole as characters, they are awesome protagonists. Don is lovable and I really like the morals that are taught in the book. If I was a mother, this would be a book that I would like to read to my child and I would recommend it for any middle grade teachers. I can't wait to read the sequel and see how Nicole, Franky and Don grow as characters!" -- Sara D., Amazon reviewer

Humans know very little about Leprechauns. Very few know the truths behind their gold, their laws, or their magic. Even fewer know that they have been cursed for centuries. This curse has brought upon an enemy that will stop at nothing to taste sweet Leprechaun blood.

Through an unlikely sequence of events, a young boy saves a Leprechaun from a wolf. A friendship is instantly formed, but with dangerous consequences. Join Franky on his journey from being the kid who is bullied by everyone to a kid brave enough to confront a wolf.

This contemporary women's fiction novel is now in the Top 100 Free on Amazon. Free today!

"This story is just one of a series, a little bit reminiscent of Sex and the City or Emily Giffin's novels. You know, the ones with a tight-knit group of girl friends, each one with her own distinct personality. This one revolves around a single mother hoping to provide a good life for her new baby, while searching for her own happiness too. It's a sweet story that you can't help but be drawn into.
