"Holiday Wishes" - a seasonal collection from KindleBoards writers!

Here's a holiday treat for you - and the proceeds help support a national children's charity, too! It's "Holiday Wishes," an anthology of short stories from some of our best-loved KindleBoards authors.

Holiday Wishes, just published this week!

Fourteen bestselling indie authors have come together to write a holiday short story collection to benefit a children’s charity this holiday season. These authors, who write in genres ranging from contemporary romance to science fiction, have joined in the holiday spirit to write all new stories for this anthology.

The collection includes contributions from the following authors: David Adams, Jason Brant, Elle Casey, Deanna Chase, Kate Danley, Dee Ernst, Ashley Mackler-Paternostro, Becca Mills, Dalya Moon, Christine Pope, Deanna Roy, Rachel Schurig, Jack Sheppard and Amber Sweetapple, with cover art donated by Claudia McKinney of Phat Puppy Artwork.

The collection is available as an ebook on, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and iTunes. It's priced at $2.99, and there's also a paperback version if you prefer that for holiday gift giving.

“One hundred percent of the profits from the collection will go to a national charity, which has been chosen by the authors because of the positive impact the organization has had on the lives of children with illness,” says Amber Sweetapple, who contributed a story with her husband, author Jack Sheppard.

This highly-rated book is one of 7 in the Ginger Barnes Main Line mystery series. Yours to download free today!

"I really enjoy reading "cozies" and Ginger Barnes is a fun new (to me) addition to my favorites. Ginger is a smart, witty family woman and I think Donna Houston Murray does a fine job bringing the mystery into Ginger's life and making the situation one that she would naturally be trying to solve. After reading "Main Line", I purchased the rest of the series and I'm looking forward to spending more time getting to know Ginger and her family." -- Amazon reviewer

The Fall of Ossard (The Ossard Trilogy), by Colin Taber. (Still free?)

This fantasy, free today, is the first in the Ossard trilogy!

"Absolutely rich, very dark, story-driven, could-not-put-it-down because I HAD TO KNOW what happened next. Absolutely story-driven with an epic grandeur that I truly enjoyed. And the author did a magnificent job, if not with the original character design, but with the growth of the characters themselves, which a lot of authors fall flat with." -- A. Boyd, Amazon reviewer

What people are saying about The Fall of Ossard:

"I stayed up all night" - Sara Douglass

"A dark fantasy world that will suck you in" - The Newcastle Herald

"Brave... Innovative... Bold..." & "Recommended for readers of Robin Hobb, Sara Douglass & Fiona McIntosh" - Stefen Brazulaitis, reviewer and columnist, Australian Bookseller and Publisher Magazine

For Juvela is about to become forsaken, and that's before she learns the real truth of not just the crimes plaguing Ossard's bloody streets, but the wider world: A world at war, and governed by gods whose highest pleasure is to sup on the taste of death.

Big Bad Wolf (COS Commando), by Gennita Low. (Still free?)

Covert operations meet romantic suspense in this novel with ten 4+ reviews. Free download today!

"This book is one of my favorites of hers. It is easy to follow and well-written. It is a stand-alone book--no cliff-hanger, no wondering what will happen next. Jaymee and Nick are both great characters. Similar to her other books, the characters are all about mind games. Lots of "testing" and "playing games" with thoughts and actions." -- Laura B, Amazon reviewer

Killian Nicholas Langley has spent most of his life as a member of a covert team, living in the shadows, working among people who accept danger as part of their lives. When an explosion nearly took his life, he thought he'd do well in construction, hiding among the transients, keeping a low profile. However, he hadn't expected a boss quite like Jaymee Barrows.

Jaymee Barrows knew the tall, dark stranger with clean hands and smart mouth looking for a job wasn't a roofer. He was going to be trouble...just like the big bad wolf. Best to stay far, far away from him. But the more he got to know Jaymee, the more Killian was intrigued by his new boss. She had secrets he wanted to know about. Her light tempted the darkness in his life. And after tasting her, he wanted more....

When faced with the brunt of unexpected change or a life crisis, it is far too easy to fall into the trap of negativity which can quickly prevent us from moving forward and blind us to potential opportunities for growth.

There are very few experiences in life that are completely unique...that someone else hasn't faced before. The perspective of someone who has gone though a similar situation and learned insightful lessons can simply be invaluable to help us replace negative scripts with positive self-talk; to lift the spirit and to give us a reason to press on.

Inspirational Words of Wisdom for Challenging Times contains hundreds of carefully selected motivational quotes and life lessons that each in its own way illustrates the value of developing greater resilience.

And the single most important lesson of all is that it is never too late to become the person you are meant to be. You have the power to grow stronger and more resilient … any and all self-limiting beliefs can be overcome.

Kindle Daily Deal: Talking With My Mouth Full by Gail Simmons (Top Chef) $1.99

Today's KDD: Talking with My Mouth Full: My Culinary Career from Line Cook to Food Writer to Professional Eater, by Gail Simmons. Normally $26.99, now $1.99!

93% off, today only!

I'm a huge Top Chef fan, so I was pleased to pick this up!

Amazon reviewer Gregory Baird says "I have a profound respect for anyone who pursues a career based on an all-consuming passion, and the story of how Gail found her way is fascinating. I also respect people who are willing to put in the work to make those dreams a reality, and Gail has done that. She wanted to write about food, so she knew she had to learn it inside and out. She went to culinary school and worked in some very prestigious kitchens (including Le Cirque). She worked with Jeffrey Steingarten (the venerable food writer for Vogue and author of the classic The Man Who Ate Everything) and Daniel Bouloud, eventually finding her way to Food & Wine and, in a nice twist of fate, Top Chef. Gail modestly attributes most of her success to luck--being in the right place at the right time--but the truth is that she let her passion lead her and she worked her butt off to get where she is."

When Top Chef judge Gail Simmons first graduated from college, she felt hopelessly lost. All her friends were going to graduate school, business school, law school . . . but what was she going to do' Fortunately, a family friend gave her some invaluable advice—make a list of what you love to do, and let that be your guide. Gail wrote down four words:
Eat. Write. Travel. Cook.

Little did she know, those four words would become the basis for a career as a professional eater, cook, food critic, magazine editor, and television star. Today, she's the host of Top Chef: Just Desserts, permanent judge on Top Chef, and Special Projects Director at Food & Wine magazine. She travels all over the world, eats extraordinary food, and meets fascinating people. She's living the dream that so many of us who love to cook and eat can only imagine. But how did she get there?

Talking with My Mouth Full follows her unusual and inspiring path to success, step-by-step and bite-by-bite. It takes the reader from her early years, growing up in a household where her mother ran a small cooking school, her father made his own wine, and family vacation destinations included Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East; through her adventures at culinary school in New York City and training as an apprentice in two of New York's most acclaimed kitchens; and on to her time spent assisting Vogue's legendary food critic Jeffrey Steingarten, working for renowned chef Daniel Boulud, and ultimately landing her current jobs at Food & Wine and on Top Chef. The book is a tribute to the incredible meals and mentors she's had along the way, examining the somewhat unconventional but always satisfying journey she has taken in order to create a career that didn't even exist when she first started working toward it.

Kindle Fire Free App of the Day: Duke Nukem & Bonus Pick!

Today's Free App of the Day is Duke Nukem 3D
Originally $0.99

Ahhh....Duke Nukem...a blast from the past.  Reviews of this one are fairly symmetrical--26 of 59 reviews are four stars and above; 24 of them are two stars and below.  The main negative is that the controls are extremely difficult to use; several reviews suggest using the two-controller option and turning sensitivity well down.  Also, some reviews say there aren't good instructions.  If you  are a Duke Nukem fan, I think this would be worth a try as it's free, but be forewarned.  I'd be interested in hearing back from a member on this one.

Because of the mixed messages on the reviews, I have a bonus pick:  Financial Calculators

Kindle tip! Personal Docs on your Kindle

I find I am using Personal Docs more and more on my Kindle! Here's a tip, from KindleBoards member Carol Ervin.

My husband and I love Kindle's "personal documents" feature. He prefers to read everything on his Kindle, especially manuals. Just about any kind of computer file can be transferred to the Kindle, including documents downloaded from Internet. If you haven't used this feature, you'll find instructions and help on the “manage your Kindle” page. On the left side of the page, click on the Your Kindle Account menu, then on Personal Document Settings.

It's easy to convert a file for Kindle. Just email your document to the appropriate Kindle address. Files can be shared this way among work groups, etc.  I send chapters of my novel-in-progress to beta readers for their Kindles--so much easier for most to evaluate than on a standard printed sheet or computer file.

I've always loved printed works, but I love this technology even more.

Have you tried personal documents?

The Emperor's Edge by Lindsay Buroker

Imperial law enforcer Amaranthe Lokdon is good at her job: she can deter thieves and pacify thugs, if not with a blade, then by toppling an eight-foot pile of coffee canisters onto their heads. But when ravaged bodies show up on the waterfront, an arson covers up human sacrifices, and a powerful business coalition plots to kill the emperor, she feels a tad overwhelmed.

Worse, Sicarius, the empire's most notorious assassin, is in town. He's tied in with the chaos somehow, but Amaranthe would be a fool to cross his path. Unfortunately, her superiors order her to hunt him down. Either they have an unprecedented belief in her skills... or someone wants her dead.

The Emperor's Edge is approximately 105,000 words.

Meet the Author

I've been writing fantasy novels and short stories since I was seven. I've been finishing them since... well, that's a more recent development.

I'm a professional blogger for my day job, and I live in the Seattle area with two vizslas who are as spoiled as most people's kids. Occasionally they let me leave the house to play tennis, visit the coffee shop, take a yoga class, or plot with co-conspirators on how best to take over the world. (One of those items may be untrue, but I won't tell you which.)

With New Year's Resolutions and Spring Cleaning right around the corner - you might want to pick up this book for free today!

"This book has some excellent suggestions for how to organize your life and home. The tips were very do-able and even if you aren't able to implement them all, just doing a few will make a big difference." -- amylou

Having an organized day means having a productive day. When we are organized in the right way, we can accomplish more because we don’t waste time searching for the next thing to do. Being organized means working in a way that is ordered and calm. It means avoiding frantic multitasking that leads not to getting more done, but getting a few things done poorly or halfway.

Organization leads to productivity in our entire day. We are tempted to think only of our work day as yielding a product, but really our home time is productive as well. It produces food for us and our families. We want to produce a tidy place to live. We want to produce leisure time and relaxation.

That is why this book helps you organize at work and at home. It doesn’t feel great to go from a clean desk at work to a messy refrigerator at the end of the day. In this book you will find routines to organize your time and methods to organize the physical spaces in which you work and live.

Now let’s get organized.

Amazon reviewer William Howe says "The Parasol Protectorate was the first time I read a book with an 'anti-magic' character. This opens the door for a more human approach and more restrictions on the supernatural community which enhances the storytelling. Very well crafted with several details in early chapters becoming important later. The tie in to Stoker, Shelley, and Byron was fun without being obvious (FINALLY!!! Vampires who WEREN'T famous before they died!!). The use of nulls to 'age' vampires who were turned young was ingenious."

Scarlett Bernard knows about personal space: step within ten feet of her, and any supernatural spells or demonic forces are instantly defused—vampires and werewolves become human again, and witches can’t get out so much as a “hocus pocus.” This special skill makes her a null and very valuable to Los Angeles’s three most powerful magical communities, who utilize her ability to scrub crime scenes clean of all traces of the paranormal to keep humanity, and the LAPD, in the dark.

But one night Scarlett’s late arrival to a grisly murder scene reveals her agenda and ends with LAPD’s Jesse Cruz tracking her down to strike a deal: he’ll keep quiet about the undead underworld if she helps solve the case. Their pact doesn’t sit well with Dash, the city’s chief bloodsucker, who fears his whole vampire empire is at stake. And when clues start to point to Scarlett, it’ll take more than her unique powers to catch the real killer and clear her name.

Help us put digital books into the hands of needy children!

Fellow readers: consider for a moment how much your life has been shaped and made better by reading books.

With that in mind, I want to introduce you to Worldreader, a group that puts digital books into the hands of children in the developing world.

Using e-readers loaded with thousands of local and international e-books, they provide kids the books they want and need, so they can improve their lives. So far, they have reached over 3,000 kids in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, and wirelessly distributed over 200,000 African and international e-books to them. Worldreader is on track to reach 10,000 children in the world's poorest countries with 500,000 e-books by the end of January, including Tanzania, Ethiopia, and the Gambia.

Here's the exciting part - Worldreader is a finalist for the American Giving Awards, airing on NBC on December 8th. Winners are chosen based on online votes and can win up to $1M.

If Worldreader gets the most votes, they will be able to expand to 20 new countries, hundreds of new schools and impact hundreds of thousands of kids.

We're asking you to support this very worthy cause, with your online vote.

I voted today and it takes ten seconds, tops. Please join me today and vote here. Let's make a difference for kids who need books!

"Resistance" by Curtis Hox - on sale today!

Simone's parents paid to have her genetically engineered for intelligence - but alarming side effects cause her to be labeled 'defective.' Get this fascinating fantasy, reduced today for our readers to only 99 cents! And Book 2 in this series is also reduced today, to $2.99. Two great books for the price of one!

From the very first page of the book, the author grabs your attention and interest. The idea of Transhumans and their special abilities is a fresh topic in the YA genre. The characters are funny and realistic, which makes them instantly click with the reader. The storyline is fast paced and flows well. I really enjoyed the idea of genetically engineered teens and the problems they faced when dealing with the Rogues - and being turned into human weapons. Overall, this is a great dystopian/fantasy YA read and I highly recommend it. -- Stephanie Ward, Amazon reviewer

Resistance (The Transhuman Warrior Series, Book 1) by Curtis Hox

Simone Wellborn is a Transhuman with an attitude. She's been genetically engineered from birth to be super smart. The problem? All that tinkering her parents paid top dollar for provided a few unexpected results, like an annoying ability to blast telekinetic energy at the worst possible times. She also has another tricky issue: strange entities possess her and, worse, transform her into something dangerous.

Simone's mother sends her to the Sterling School for reject Transhumans. While there, she meets a few other students with similar problems and dirty secrets. Heart throb Hutto Toth is a charming gladiator and a werebear. He annoys Simone from day one, and Simone can't stand how much she likes him. There's two-foot tall Wally Dorsey, who's determined to pilot a personalized mech. His best friend, Beasley Gardner, is a mountain of a young girl with the power and strength of a giant, and a rage disorder. Finally, Simone meets Kimberlee Newkirk, a sultry and dangerous Succubus who fears she'll kill the next boy she kisses.

These defective transhumans find themselves at the center of a deadly conflict when computer-geek student Joss Beckwith is attacked by a Rogue Artificial Intelligence.

The Transhuman Warrior Series tells the story of Simone and her friends as they're transformed into highly specialized human weapons. They must challenge the increasing power of the Rogues as these enemies push into Realspace with one goal in mind: total domination.

Here is today's selection of free and bargain Kindle books!

Remix, by Lexi Revellian. (Still free?)

This engaging mystery is Top 100 in the Kindle store, and comes from author Lexi Revellian - whose books sales exceed 50,000 copies. Free today!

"Remix was a great read from start to finish. Caz and Ric have flaws, but are likable and believable, and secondary characters are also well-drawn. Twists and turns kept me guessing and there was plenty of suspense to keep me reading. Descriptions of Caz's work as a restorer of rocking horses were a fun and fascinating element of the story. Author Lexi Revellian seems to really know her subject. The book is fast-paced, well-written, and reaches a satisfying conclusion. Recommended!" -- L. C. Evans, Vine Voice reviewer

REMIX is a feel-good page turner, that you won't want to put down until you reach the satisfying ending.

Caz Tallis restores rocking horses in her London workshop. When shabby but charismatic Joe and his dog turn up on her roof terrace, she is reluctantly drawn into investigating a rock star's murder from three years before - an unsolved case the police have closed. Which, as her best friend James says, is rather like poking a furnace with a short stick...

Oracle, Amazon Vine Voice reviewer, wrote: "This is a highly addictive novel, a good old-fashioned murder mystery with a dash of 21st century celebrity glamour. I struggled to put it down. Lexi Revellian is great at crafting a plot that moves at speed but her biggest talent is in creating characters that the reader can really care about, characters that seem like old friends as the novel draws to a close.

Overall, Remix is great fun, extremely entertaining and - dare I say it - would make an excellent transition to the small or big screen

Full length novel: 75,000 words, by the author of REPLICA and ICE DIARIES.

273 pages, with a 4.5-star rating from 57 reviews.

Seven Days From Sunday (An MP-5 CIA Thriller, Book 1), by M.H. Sargent. (Still free?)

100 reviews and a 4-plus rating for this Grisham-like thriller. Free today!

"Seven Days from Sunday and the other two works from this independent author are all well crafted, have memorable characters and many twists in plot to keep your attention. Sargent sets the hook early and weaves a story that keeps you turning pages until late in the night. The author does an excellent job of developing his characters, each with distinct personalities that are consistent in each book. While most modern fiction has a central theme of sex, corruption and ample profanity, it's refreshing to find a good clean read." -- Comorant, Amazon reviewer

In this fast paced thriller, Iraq's top terrorist makes two promises - a kidnapped American contractor will be executed on a given date, his body dumped in Baghdad's Green Zone and a major attack will occur in seven days.

Working desperately to find the American and thwart the impending attack is an elite 4-man CIA team which includes an attractive female doctor. But they can only watch helplessly as the terrorist and his masked henchmen behead the American during a live video feed carried on the Internet.

What they don't know is that one of the masked men is not a terrorist, but completely innocent. He is an Iraqi pharmacist who has infiltrated the group. His only objective - to find his missing fiancée, who the terrorist has also kidnapped.

After the beheading, he is free to go. But little does he know that his fiancée will bring the deceased American's head to the Green Zone, and inside the dead man's mouth is evidence linking him to the terrorist.

This is the first novel in M.H. Sargent's popular MP-5 CIA series. The other novels include The Shot To Die For, Operation Spider Web, The Yemen Connection and Alliance of Evil. Sargent has also written a murder mystery set during WWII, Toward Night's End.

317 pages, with a 4.2-star rating from 100 reviews.

World's Collider: A Shared-World Anthology, by Jonathan Green. (Still free?)

Here's a unique set of short stories, each linked by the aftermath of a huge explosion in Europe that reveals horrors from deep within the planet. Download this free today!

"What a GREAT read! World's Collider is a collection of apocalyptic short stories that don't just follow a common theme like other anthologies or short story collections. Each story co-exists with the others in the same space and for the same common narrative, providing more of a 'novel' than a collection of individual short stories. The unique writing style of each author makes the entire book fresh and thrilling to read." -- Anastasia, Amazon reviewer

The Collision is the worst disaster in human history. So far…

In the near future, an experiment at the Large Hadron Collider causes an enormous explosion, known as the Collision. The blast flattens a huge chunk of central Europe and punches a massive hole in the Earth’s surface. Over the next decade, unspeakable horrors pour from the rift: vicious creatures with a taste for human flesh, a terrible scream that drives all who hear it insane, a phantom entity that feeds on fear and paranoia, and a nightmare train from the pits of hell, to name but a few. This onslaught of terror causes the collapse of civilization and threatens to wipe humanity from the planet.

World’s Collider is a unique concept in short fiction, where all eighteen original stories are part of a common narrative, recounting the disaster and its aftermath. A true novel by many voices, including Steven Savile, James Moran, Aaron Rosenberg, Trent Zelazny, Jonathan Green, Simon Kurt Unsworth, Kelly Hale, Richard Wright and a host of new talent.

Fifty million people died in the Collision. They were the lucky ones…

"Each component cranks up the tension and the disparate tales combine in mosaic-fashion to deliver a truly gripping narrative." - Ian Whates, author of The Noise Within

472 pages, with a 4.4-star rating from 19 reviews.

Second Sight: Second Tale of the Lifesong (The Tale of the Lifesong), by Greg Hamerton. (Still free?)

"With the wonderful prose of Greg Hamerton, "Second Sight" flows beautifully page after page. It's as good a traditional high magic fantasy as it gets, and I hope the author will continue to use his superb writing style to enchant us with more stories." -- Liviu Suciu, Vine Voice

"This book had me from the get-go. Hailey has a gift for dropping you in the middle of the action while at the same time giving you access to the characters in a manner that makes you actually care about what's going on. He provides the little personal touches that I appreciate in thriller writers. Not a bad place to start if you are new to this writer's work, as I am." -- Ardin Lalui, Amazon reviewer

In Laura and Victor, Anton has created an unlikely action duo that gets the job done and leaves the reader hoping for more adventures. Anyone looking for a suspenseful, action story that is an easy read will enjoy Laura and The Jaguar Prophecy." -- Everett Turner, Amazon reviewer

Little does she know she would soon become the centre of attention for multiple secret agencies searching for information she unknowingly carries, information which could either end the world or save it, depending on who finds it first. Deadly Memories, by Pamela M. Richter. (Still free?)

Here's a romantic suspense novel, by the author of Necromancer. Yours free today!

"This carefully sculpted story did not disappoint; it is infused with romance, friendship, challenges, tragedy, mystery, conspiracy, despair, hope, and danger, all leading to a suspenseful showdown." -- LuvMyKindle, Amazon reviewer

"This is a very visual book - I saw it as a movie in my head. Deadly Memories is basically a story of love and hate and secrets. But this is not a simple story because the characters are not simple and the plot is not simple. There are complications caused by the bad guys and the good guys. All because of secrets. It ends perfectly, with love and friendships and positive memories to make!" -- Elva Moser, Amazon reviewer

What she can't remember might kill her...

"She doesn't remember a thing," Rolph snapped into the phone.

Andrea froze. His back was turned away from her. He didn't know she was there, listening.

"It's been six months, for God's sake. If you harm one hair on her head, I'll contact the authorities. My father would be disgraced, but that will not deter me."

Now Andrea couldn't move. There was no doubt Rolph was talking about her. She wondered how his father, the French Ambassador, could be disgraced.

His voice modulated to a threatening whisper. "This is the end. Otherwise she goes directly into protective custody, and I spill my guts. You've lied to me, made me into a damned traitor, and I'm angry enough to do it out of spite."

Now Andrea knew there were secrets he was keeping from her. What did he mean about protective custody? Was she in danger? The one blank spot in her mind was a mysterious car crash. She didn't know how she had landed at the bottom of a cliff in the Santa Monica mountains of Los Angeles. She remembered the fabulous party in Beverly Hills that night, but try as she might, she couldn't remember the sequence of events leading to the accident.

Rolph's last words chilled her, "I have nothing to lose. I'm a dead man."

416 pages. 4.2-star rating with 112 of 145 reviews four stars and above.

Amazon reviewer Brenda Condit says "I have found another author that I will read everything she writes. I discovered her by accident. I started reading one of the other books in the series and found out very quickly that it was a series and that I had to get them all. I am so glad I did. I found Stephanie's books filled with humor, passion, tenderness, strength and love. I loved how the men are strong and yet vulnerable. The women are independent, feisty and passionate. Both the men and the women could stand alone but together they are a complete person."

OK, 14 of 19 reviews are four stars and above, though a couple of those seem to be from the developer.  It's a retro looking Bejeweled type game.  What's with all the retro games?  Anyway, the graphics aren't spectacular but game play is good and there's a wrinkle as you have target goals for each animal you match up.  Works well on my Fire 4G.  There's also a game mode where you try to get 100 of each animal.  Or something.

This app is compatible with the original Fire and works on my Fire HD8.9.  To tell if an app works for your Fire HD or other Android device registered to your Amazon account, click on the above link and look on the right side of the web page.  Amazon will tell you if it will work with your registered device.

Author Profile: Michelle Hamilton

We're pleased to introduce you today to author Michelle Hamilton, author of Ravensong and the World of Samar series!

I was born and raised just outside of San Francisco. When I was in elementary school, I won a writing contest. The prize was a trip to an amusement park where the other contest winners and I were given free run before the general public arrived. Greater than the joy of riding rollercoasters without lines, I learned the power of writing– to move people with words.

In high school, I began writing the World of Samar series, based on the rock band Styx’s Kilroy Was Here album. I played that album obsessively as a teen and the story just came to me while listening to it.

Kilroy Was Here was Styx’s response to the hysteria in the media during the 1980s. Some believed certain rock bands were putting satanic messages on records and listeners would be able to receive the message by playing the records backwards. The premise of this album, and so many during that time, was that adults were trying to control the minds of children by denying them their musical expression.

I was fascinated with the idea of mind control and secretly hoped I would develop telepathic powers, so I could do the controlling. Unfortunately that didn’t work out for me, but I could do one better. I could write about a race of people who had that ability, hence the birth of the Stravad.

While attending college at UC Davis, I took a creative writing course, but found the structure to be so restrictive that I changed to a teaching emphasis. Still I continued to write for myself on a battered electric typewriter where the keys would punch holes in the paper if you used the correction ribbon.

It wasn’t until 2009 that I became serious about my writing and went in search of an agent. I found a publisher instead. In November of 2009, my lifelong dream of being a published author came true and Emerald, the first in the World of Samar series, landed on a book shelf.

Last year, I decided to venture into indie publishing with my rock star novel, Ravensong. I love the freedom of indie publishing, and let me tell you, holding the sixth book in my hands is as amazing as the first. That is an experience that will never get old.
